Bye bye cankles...hello sleepless nights! Avery, mom, and dad survived the first week! We are tired but loving every minute of parenthood. Ryan lovingly took off 2 weeks and has been very hands-on and super dad! He has mastered swaddling and diaper changing. Avery is doing well, seems to have her days and nights mixed up but we are trying to follow the doctors directions and feed more frequently during the day and stretch out the night feedings. So far on night one, much better. Avery slept longer and ate quickly when needed. We went to the pedi yesterday and all is well with our bean. She weighs 8.3 lbs now from her birth weight of 8.8 lbs. YEA!!! We go back in one week for another check up.
I am feeling and looking like the old me. Thanks to Ryan and my mom...I am back on my feet and y house is functioning like it should. Its clean and so is the laundry. Words cannot express my gratitude to my mom and Ryan's help as well as for the meals our friends have volunteered to bring us. You are all very special and loved! Thank you.
The dogs are hilarious with Avery. They love to sniff her and Cheyenne has to check out whats happening when Avery cries. The nice weather has gotten us out of the house and walking around the cul-de-sac. All for now, Avery is getting restless...life with a newborn! Love it!

So glad the house is starting to feel like a home complete with your new baby. It sure is great having your mom there, huh?!? And glad your swelling is going down! Enjoy this precious time with Ryan, Avery, your family - what a JOY!!
Way to go papa Corley - sounds like you're doing a great job in support (amazing how much needs to be done, and how little time you seem to have to get it all!). In addition to handling sewage treatment, rumor has it that the backrub continues to be the 'most important' contribution you can have.
Enjoy this time - I had 10 days off work, and still have trouble focusing when I know my boy is waiting for me back home... and we don't want our air traffic controller getting distracted looking at photos of his daughter when my plane landes in July!
So happy for y'all and your busy home.
