Avery will tell you her favorite food is okra. I think she gets that from me. I LOVE a good fried okra but hate that it is not so...um...healthy. So, my mother-in-law found a new way of making 'fired" okra. BAKED okra. It looks and taste the same just not greasy. Here is the step by step process. Enjoy!
What you need:
Okra
Milk
Corn Meal
Olive Oil
Optional: Tony's for a kick!
Soak your okra, and wash it really well with water.
Cut your okra into bite-sized pieces discarding the ends. Your knife should go through very easily. If its crunchy or hard toss that piece.
In a bowl all some milk and then soak the pieces in the milk for a minute or two...
Rub olive oil onto a baking stone or cookie sheet then place okra onto the stone/sheet Bake at 425 for 20 minutes...give or take a few minutes
Done!
